This small seaside resort is located north of Crete, approximately 30km from the port and airport of Heraklion, the capital city of Crete.
It is suitable for those of you who want to a place for family vacations, which also offers bars and cafes, where you can relax and enjoy at a quieter pace. You will even find many stores to do your shopping, and taverns with traditional Cretan cuisine and restaurants where you can enjoy international cuisine. However, if you want a vivid nightlife, Hersonissos and Malia are at close distance.

What to see
Using Stalis as your base, you can discover many of the beauties the area has to offer.
If you are fond of the traditional way of life, you can visit the mountain villages Mohos, Kera and Krasi, where during the summer many events take place, especially during August when the day of Assumption is. You can even visit the Lasithi Plateau and the famous Mount Dikti and Dikteon Cave, where Zeus was born.
If you want to experience the vivid nightlife of the island, the cosmopolitan resorts of Hersonissos and Malia are near by. In case you feel like doing something different, visit the Koutouloufari village, near Hersonissos, and the archaeological sites located there. For those of you interested in the culinary wealth of the island, besides the traditional taverns of Stalis, the villages of Milatos and Sissi offer fresh seafood and on the mountains surrunding Stalida you can find small tavernas with good quality meat.
The more active ones can visit the water parks “Star Beach” in Hersonissos and “Aqua Plus” on the way to Lasithi Plateau.
